Top 5 Reasons Summer Dance Camps and Classes are Not to be Missed

With the school year coming to an end and summer quickly approaching, you might be wondering how you will keep your dancer occupied. Summer should be filled with rest, family, and friends. But we also know there is something else your summer should include- DANCE! Why not beat the heat with dance camps, nightly classes, and intensives? Dancing through the summer will have many mental and physical benefits for your dancer.

1- Summer is the perfect time to try a new class!

One of the best parts of a shortened summer session is the fun and low commitment environment. It serves as the perfect sampler period to try out a new dance genre. If you are not sure what style to enroll your dancer in, try a new style this summer. If they love it, you will know what to sign up for in the fall, and if they don’t, at least they got to experience something new!

2- Time to focus on dance.

During the school year, dancers are involved in countless sports, activities, and after-school commitments. On top of this, they have to worry about homework and tests. Not to mention preparing competition or recital dances during class time. During the summer, when things have quieted down, they can focus more on their dance training. These classes provide time for students who want to improve their skills and technique without other distractions.

3- Beat the summer boredom

Kids look forward to summer break all year. After a few days in, the boredom begins to hit. Keep your dancer stimulated with summer dance! This is time for your dancer to work on their skills, have social time, and get out of the house. Dance camps and classes reinvigorate a boring summer week.

4- Good time to introduce little ones to classroom environments

Sometimes toddlers and young kids can have a hard time adjusting to school and activities. They can be anxious when being separated from mom or dad for the first time. Our short summer classes and camps are the perfect way to practice their independence so that they are prepared for school in the fall!

5- Stay active!

While it might be easy to lay around all summer, it is important to incorporate fitness into your dancer’s summer routine. Dancing is one of the best ways to exercise because it improves flexibility, strength, stamina, and coordination all at once. Enrolling in summer dance encourages healthy habits, and is a better way to spend the summer than on a screen!

BONUS! Make life-long friends and memories

Summer dance camps and classes are a great way to meet new people. During summer camps and intensives, dancers have built in time to interact, play, and get to know their classmates more. The studio is a neutral ground where dancers from all different schools and towns are able to mingle and make friends. Plus- they're able to make amazing memories from uniuqe activites and experiences that are only available at dance.
