Recital Day!
December 13, 2025
10:00 am- Morning Show (all dancers)
4:00 pm- Afternoon Show (all dancers)
After so much preparation and practice, the recital day is finally here! It can be full of lots of emotions: excitement, nervousness, sadness that it's coming to an end, and pride. Always try to encourage and support your dancer whatever they may be feeling and remember- it's normal!

We've tried to streamline everything for you on the day of recital. This way, you can relax knowing your dancer is in good hands! Please see the time line below.

Step 1 (the night before): Gather everything you will need for the recital. Put it all in a container of some sort so it's right where you need it in the morning! You can use your garmet bag, dance bag, or even a laundry basket if you have lots of stuff. Make sure every piece is marked with your dancer's name or initials. This includes shoes, tights, and all costume pieces.

Step 2 (1.5-2 hours before show): Complete make-up and hair at home. Use the restroom before putting on tights, 1st costume, and coverup!

Step 3 (30-45 mintues before show): Arrive at the auditorium and check in at the dancer table. Dancers will last names that start with A-K will check in at the stage right table (by the men's restroom) while dancers with last names L-Z will be by the stage left table (women's restroom) Our Ready-2-Dance & Stars of Tomorrow 2&3 classes needs to have an adult with them in the dressing room at all times. This adult will be with them on stage as well.
After the show, dancers that are 5th grade or younger will need to be checked back out by a parent after the show. Dancers 6th grade and older may dismiss themselves after the recital is over. Dancers that will need to be picked up will have a card given to their adult. This card will be used to check your dancer back out after the performance, so please keep track of it!

Once dancers are checked in, they will be escorted back to their dressing rooms. We have lots of fun activities planned for them while they wait in their dressing rooms. Each room will have one or two qualified and happy leaders to make sure everyone is ready to go! Once in their dressing rooms, dancers will not be allowing into the auditorium until the recital is over.

Step 4 (show time!): As a parent, you get to sit back, relax, and take pride in your dancer as they shine on the stage! Only dancers and approved persons are allowed to be back stage, so please make sure to wait in the lobby or auditorium for your dancer.

Step 5 (after the show): Dancers will be taken back to their dressing rooms to collect their things. Dancers 5th grade and younger will be brought back to the stage to be checked out to their adult with the matching card. Please wait in the audience until your child's name is called and then meet them at the corresponding ramp. Please do not form a line at the ramps as there's no knowing what order the dancers will be in. Please only take dancer's down the ramp, not off the front of the stage. This process will take just a bit, so please be patient with us. We do this to ensure the safety of all our dancers. While waiting, feel free to talk with family, relax, and reflect on what an amazing semester it's been!

Dancers that are 6th grade or older will be dismissed to their dressing rooms to gather their belongings and will meet you on the stage once they have their things. Please remember to wait for them to come out to you. We still need to keep the number of people backstage to only dancers and approved persons. We do this for the safety of all our dancers. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Once you have been reunited with your dancer, make sure to snap some pictures of them to commemorate the moment! They've worked so hard!

PS- We'll have a VERY special visitor from the North Pole stop by after the first show. Dancers may get their pictures with them after they have been picked up by their adult.

Other Things to Keep In Mind on Recital Day
We are very fortunate to have Memorial Auditorium available to us. Please make sure to leave it cleaner than we found it.
No food or drink (besides water) in the auditorium or dressing room.
Additional costume pieces provided by BTC will be passed out and collected after each practice/performance. PLEASE make sure to turn your pieces back in with their bag. We plan to use these for other classes in the future.
There will be no photography allowed in the dressing rooms (this includes on cell phones). Please use hallways and our special backdrop to take pictures.
Above all else, remember that we are all there to have a fun and memorable performance for the dancers! We are blessed to have each and every one of them!
